Circle of Excellence Award

Overview

As a recognized symbol of quality, the Circle of Excellence Award is presented by the Distribution Business Management Association (DBM) to leading companies in various industries. The recipients represent the highest standards of quality and technology, providing a model and goal for all businesses. The Circle of Excellence Award recognizes the important attributes and characteristics of Consistency, Integrity, Responsibility, Commitment, Leadership, and Excellence, which the people in the organization exhibit and uphold.

DBM presents this award to one company each year that represents excellence and a strong commitment to the environment. The award recipient is chosen from an international panel of judges from the top universities and associations.

  • 2003 - KRAFT Foods - for excellence in the food industry. This award was presented to Kraft Foods in Las Vegas, NV at the 2003 Circle of Excellence Award banquet
  • 2002 - Lockheed Martin - for excellence in the defense industry. This award was presented to Judy Marks, President, at a black tie affair in Orlando, Florida
  • 2001 - Coors Brewing Company - for environmentally responsible supply chain management in the beverage sector
  • 2000 - Roadway Express, Inc.- for demonstrating an increased awareness of environmental issues and opportunities by incorporating environmental strategies into their supply chain management processes. The award was presented to Michael Wickham, CEO, at a black tie affair in Atlanta, Georgia
  • 1999 - Sears, Roebuck and Co. for centralizing return centers and reducing waste and defective merchandise. The award was presented to Dave Giometti, VP, at a black tie affair in Orlando, FloridaK
  • 1998 - UPS for Global Supply Chain Management. The award was presented to Jim Kelly, CEO, at a black tie awards dinner in Phoenix, Arizona.
  • 1997 - Mercedes Benz for excellence in manufacturing
