Supply Chain Risk & Disruptions

Thursday, June 26, 2008 - 1:00 pm - 1:45 pm

Track: Cutting Edge Research & Benchmarking

Session Abstract:

The management of disruptive events in supply chains is a critical concern for firms competing in today’s global market. A single disruption occurring in a supply chain can quickly propagate and intensify in impact, with devastating consequences. While the topics of supply chain risk and disruptions are timely, supply chain managers need tools to better understand the drivers of risk in their supply chains. This session will focus on developing a better understanding of the drivers of supply chain risk and what can be done to manage these drivers. These insights can be used in the development and execution of effective mitigation strategies to reduce or even avoid the negative impact of supply chain disruptions.
